Perimenopause & Menopause

The menopause transition can affect much more than your menstrual cycle. Changes in sleep, mood, concentration, energy, temperature regulation, sexual comfort, and overall well-being can begin years before the final menstrual period.

Dr. Cleveland takes time to understand the full pattern of your symptoms, health history, priorities, and concerns. Together, you will create a practical plan that may include lifestyle strategies, nonhormonal treatment, hormone therapy when appropriate, and ongoing adjustments as your needs change.

  • Vaginal dryness or urinary symptoms
  • Questions about bone, heart, and long-term health

Hormone Therapy

Deciding whether hormone therapy is right for you can feel confusing. Women often encounter conflicting information about safety, timing, formulations, dosing, and what “bioidentical” really means.

Dr. Cleveland provides an evidence-informed discussion of the potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and available forms of therapy. When treatment is appropriate, care includes selecting a personalized approach, monitoring your response, addressing side effects, and revisiting the plan over time.

Common reasons women seek care

  • Questions about whether hormone therapy is appropriate
  • Persistent hot flashes, night sweats, or sleep disruption
  • Vaginal or urinary symptoms related to menopause
  • Concerns about brain fog, fatigue, mood changes, or weight gain

Common reasons women seek care

  • Weight gain during perimenopause or menopause

Sexual health is an important part of overall health and quality of life. Changes in desire, comfort, arousal, orgasm, or intimacy are common, but they are not concerns you simply have to accept.

Gynecologic Procedures & Surgery

Some gynecologic concerns require more than observation or medication. When an office procedure or outpatient surgery is recommended, patients deserve a clear understanding of why it may help, what alternatives exist, and what to expect.

Dr. Cleveland helps patients move through these decisions with careful counseling, practical preparation, and continuity before and after the procedure.

In office procedures available include IUD insertion and removal, Nexplanon insertion and removal, endometrial biopsy, labial biopsy, skin tag removal, Bartholin’s cyst drainage, colposcopy and LEEP. Operating room procedures offered include hysteroscopy, polypectomy, hysteroscopic myomectomy, labiaplasty, and hymenectomy.

Recommendations are based on the individual concern, available options, and your preferences.

Common reasons women seek care

  • Abnormal or persistent uterine bleeding
  • Abnormal pap smear results needing follow-up with a colposcopy or treatment with a LEEP procedure
  • Uterine polyps or fibroids
  • Contraceptive management, including IUD and Nexplanon
  • Bartholin's cyst or abscess
  • Questions regarding procedural options
Care may include
  • Review of records and imaging
  • Discussion of alternatives
  • Preparation and comfort planning
  • Post-procedure follow-up
